IFMSA Pakistan was established in 2001 as Pakistan chapter of IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations). It has its representation in 45+ medical institutes of Pakistan with 10,000+ members. IFMSA Pakistan is Pakistan’s leading Medical Students’ Association. It has 15 local councils situated in medical institutes of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta and Peshawar.

IFMSA Pakistan works at 5 levels:

  • National Cabinet (looks after all the Local Cabinets/Coordinator Institutes of Pakistan)
  • Permanent Local Cabinet (functional at institute level)
  • Temporary Local Cabinet
  • Candidate Local Cabinet
  • Coordinator Institute (has no local cabinet, and can only achieve the status of a Local Cabinet if it acquires 30 Pakistan members and a ‘No Objections Certificate’ from the Dean of their institute)
